Welcome to the Portsmouth Symphony!
If you’re reading this, you’re either joining us for a concert soon, or thinking about it!
We care a LOT about your experience and making sure it’s a great one. These questions come from concertgoers who told us what they wished they’d known before attending.
Have a question that’s not answered here? Send us a message on Facebook or Instagram, or you can email us at info@portsmouthsymphony.org.
The Portsmouth Symphony is based in Portsmouth, NH and we perform throughout the year at The Music Hall in Portsmouth. In recent years, we’ve expanded to include performances at Portsmouth High School, York Community Auditorium, and we host smaller concerts at local organizations throughout the Seacoast. Our goal is to continue to perform in new locations to reach more audiences.
There really is no bad seat at any of our venues! That said, audience members who attend our Music Hall shows share that the Balcony seats have the best sound and view point.

We want you to be comfortable when you join us for a concert, so please wear whatever works for you. You won’t see a lot of black tie, but you will see that some people love dressing up and some people love dressing casually. Whatever you choose, you probably won’t be the only one! We’re just glad you’re here.
All of our Sunday performances start at 3:00 PM. You’re also welcome to come early for the free, 30-45 minute pre-concert talk which starts at 1:45 PM before each show. Parking in downtown Portsmouth can be tricky, so we recommend plenty of time to park and get to your seat. If you’re late, you’ll be allowed in at a suitable break in the program.
Portsmouth offers lots of parking options nearby—arriving a little early helps you grab the easiest spot so you can relax and enjoy the concert! We recommend checking out Park Portsmouth for up-to-date information and rates.
