Fall-Spring

Met @ The Music Hall

Ten performances from October through May, with four performances preceded by ‘Opera Connection’. Lively discussions by Opera expert/writer-producer Dennis Neil Kleinman.

Portsmouth Pro Musica

Led by Priscilla Stevens French, this 60-member auditioned chorus performs masterworks from the choral repertory; past performances have included Dvorak’s Mass in D, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, accompanied by an orchestra of local professional musicians.

Amare Cantare

Led by Catherine Beller-McKenna, this auditioned a cappella chamber ensemble encompasses works from a variety of periods; past performances have included J.S. Bach’s Magnificat in D – featuring an orchestra of period instrumentalists, Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices and Brahms’ Marienleider.

Community Chorus of South Berwick

Led by Dr. Nicholas Dosman, this 60-member non-auditioned chorus performs works a cappella and with accompaniment by instrumental ensembles and chamber orchestras; past performances have included works by Gabrieli, Berlioz, Brahms, and Bach’s Magnificat in D, as well modern choral composers.

Rockingham Choral Society

Led by Andrew Gaydos, this 40-member chorus with accompanist, features soloists chosen from the membership; past works have included Mozart’s Requiem, Finzi’s In Terra Pax and Magnificat, as well as music by Handel, Rutter, and Vaughn Williams.

Granite State Choral Society

Led by Dr. Daniel Roihl, this non-auditioned chorus performs music from various time periods and cultures, accompanied and a cappella. Past performances have included their original work “Rochester”, Ola Gjeilo’s The Ground, Rutter’s Magnificat, folk tunes, spirituals, contemporary and Broadway.

Historic Portsmouth Chamber Music

The Portsmouth Athenaeum’s annual series of four chamber music concerts are held in historic properties around Portsmouth, featuring renowned chamber music ensembles.

Halcyon Music Festival

These Boston-based professional musicians perform chamber music concerts in and around Portsmouth NH during June and July.
