My name is Emma Ruset and I am thirteen years old. I attend the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham, NH (7th grade). I have been playing the piano for 8 years. I started playing through University of New Hampshire Piano Extension Program that was overseen by Professor Arlene Kies/UNH Piano Faculty/Music Lecturer. I am currently studying with Mary Towse-Beck and became part of Stringendo this year.
It has been a great opportunity to play music with other people, especially during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. One thing I learned from Stringendo was how to effectively use Acapella to record music and collaborate with other musicians. I really enjoyed being a part of Stringendo and hope to be able to participate in similar programs in the future!
